Chinese Press Agency Reveals World’s First AI News Anchor
The AI claims that he can actually reads news 24×7 without getting interrupted. The video of the AI news anchor may actually look like a human, but it is really a human. Just the voice has been edited and the digitally manipulated form has been presented.
However, the AI still lacks many features and doesn’t actually looks real. The reason behind this is the lack of facial movements and absolute AI based voice. But sooner or later, the same AI can be improved and can be presented as a AI behind a human body.
The digital anchors can be programmed to read news faster than the traditional CGI techniques that are used. As per South China Morning Post, the agency Xinhua has created two AIs at the moment.
This AI has been created by the agency with the collaboration with the local search engine Sogou which helps them collect data that are essential for the presentation of the news reports.
Are Those AI(s) Has Been Official Yet?
Probably yes. The agency has stated the following words which indicates the officially possession of the AI in future.
“AI anchors have officially become members of the Xinhua News Agency reporting team. They will work with other anchors to bring you authoritative, timely and accurate news information in both Chinese and English,” said the news agency.
The AI are presently accessible all through Xinhua’s web and smartphones, for example, its official Chinese and English applications, WeChat App, and online TV website.
The AI has great impact on modern news media agencies as it can soon take over news anchor’s jobs. We’re already near an extent where AI would take over all jobs – replacing humans and making them unemployed.
